The Rom Com Challenge

We don’t like romantic comedies as a rule. There are some that are less objectionable than others, but for the most part they’re all pretty awful. Nevertheless, we really enjoy writing about them. So, in the interest of having more material for you, our readers, and giving as many romantic comedies as possible a chance at impressing us, we have composed a list of romantic comedies for us to watch and review. As we finish our reviews, we’ll post the link here as well.

All of these were released in 2000 or later, are on Netflix or Amazon Instant, and were played in theaters. Some of them we’ve seen already, some of them we haven’t. We’re aiming to do at least one review a week (in no particular order). Stay tuned, because this should be fun.

The List

Safe Haven
The Switch
Along Came Polly
50 First Dates
Love Actually
One for the Money

  1. This is a fantastic idea. I’m shocked some of those were in theatres…or I would be, if I thought 21st c. American movie houses had any standards left. Can’t wait to read the reviews!

    • Yeah, we were pretty surprised at some of the romcoms that went to theaters. I figure that the movie industry will have hit bottom when they try to remake some of these.

Tune in on Fridays! We’ll be posting our reviews then.
